My Divi Routine: Up The Volume!

If you've got fine hair like me, this brand-new product could be perfect for you. Finally a solution that really works. Let me show you why I'm loving it...

Since starting the Get Ready With Me journey with Divi, I’ve wondered how best to wrap up this section of my path to happy hair. At the onset of many adventures, there is not always a finish line in sight. This journey started with shampoo and conditioner (My Divi Routine Part 1), then moved to my scalp-healthy staple (Part 2), and ended with an inside-out approach (Part 3). With many adventures, something new often catches our attention or gets fortuitously placed in our path as we explore. And as I move to metaphorically sign off on this GRWM journey, it just so happens there might be a PS — a postscript message for you. (And from my experience, these are often the best part!)

Yep…there was definitely a fortuitous placement in my journey. Divi launched a Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner. It was like a little green and white gift for me and for anyone else out there with fine hair. My first memory of hearing the term “fine hair” was in junior high school when that rather expensive perm did not hold. (This quick dissolution of my first and only perm was a pleasant postscript for me.)

What is fine hair?

The word “fine” refers to the small diameter of an individual hair strand compared to other hair types. Those of us with fine hair know all about this. Our hair often feels silkier in texture (a really nice attribute), yet we lack volume. Fine hair is a bit more prone to breakage and damage, and can become oily quickly as the scalp’s natural oils can easily coat thinner strands of hair.

While nothing can be done to permanently change the diameter of our individual hair strands, keeping our scalp and hair follicles healthy helps create an illusion of thicker hair. Cleansing regularly and exfoliating the scalp are key to the health of fine hair. Despite these challenges, fine hair is manageable and can look fuller and more voluminous with the right care and product.

What’s special about Divi’s Volumizing line of shower essentials?

With a blend of postbiotics, green tea, and glucosamine, Divi’s Volumizing Shampoo is formulated to cleanse, nourish, and balance the scalp for a healthy skin barrier. Divi’s Volumizing Conditioner, featuring rice protein, olive leaf, and rosemary extracts, is designed to strengthen and protect the hair from damage while leaving it more manageable. Together, this light-as-air duo helps to promote clean, detangled hair with added lift, volume and bounce.

The Volumizing Shampoo:

  • Adds effortless lift, bounce, and volume while preserving the natural oils we need
  • Deeply cleans and removes product buildup without stripping (no harsh sulfates)
  • Nourishes and balances the scalp with targeted care

The Volumizing Conditioner:

  • Conditions and hydrates without weighing hair down
  • Strengthens and protects individual strands from damage and breakage
  • Leaves hair feeling silky and nourished — with a bit of added lift

  1. I have coarse white hair that is still quite thick at age 97. Yes..I am lucky…but I feel that with age my hair has become much drier and even frizzy in places. I wear it short and other than a monthly haircut, it’s wash and air dry about every 5 days. Please recommend a shampoo and conditioner .

    • Yes – you are quite lucky to have thick hair, I’m a bit envious! As my hair seems to be the exact opposite of yours, my first suggestion is to ask the professional who cuts your hair. Otherwise, I would make sure your shampoo is free of sulfates that can really strip you hair of moisture. You might also look at a leave in conditioner. (I happen to really love the Divi original shampoo, which is sulfate free. They also have a great 3-1 leave in conditioner) Let us know what you land on – I am sure other readers will be interested!
