We first met Norma, 74- the legendary designer, when we interviewed her for a profile. She is a north star for us and one of the earliest champions of wellness. She has prioritized the importance of having a healthy immune system for a decade. As a designer, she innovated the cutout bathing suit, the sleeping bag coat, developed her clean skincare line in the early 1990s, and then opened her wellness cafe in NYC in 2001, putting her at the forefront of what is now a global wellness movement. When we look at Norma, we think, I’ll have whatever she is having.
We have a wide-ranging chat about the power of the Kardashians to influence women’s’ impossible beauty standards and #metoo. Her feeling is modern authentic beauty today, is more about being the healthiest most natural version of yourself rather than the “cover it up with makeup” versions from the 70s, 80s, and 90s.
