If you follow the SuperAge podcast, you’ll recall that we have been researching and testing HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy). 50 years ago in Science News, oxygen treatments were studied for their ability to reverse memory loss. In 2022, more research needs to be done about oxygen treatments but what we do know is that exposing patients to 100% oxygen at high pressures might boost cognitive abilities and improve “short-term memory in people who have had strokes and those with Alzheimer’s disease. The treatments seem to work by dampening inflammation in the brain.” As the medical field continues to learn about the lasting effects of oxygen therapy, we are gathering intel from experts and testing it ourselves for an upcoming larger piece about HBOT.
