We have been hearing a lot about the benefits of hyperbaric O2 therapy, and here is another one. Recent studies have found that the use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) may have a measurable positive impact on Alzheimer’s disease and aging. As the study states, “Vascular dysfunction is entwined with aging and in the pathogenesis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and contributes to reduced cerebral blood flow (CBF) and consequently, hypoxia.” The study found that when elderly patients with memory loss were exposed to HBOT, there was a measurable improvement in CBF and their cognitive abilities.
