Prior to In The Groove, Susan was the co-founder and visionary behind One Kings Lane, the go-to destination for home decor. One Kings Lane launched in March 2009 and an industry was disrupted. Today One Kings Lane is a daily source of shopping and design inspiration for millions of people both online and offline One Kings Lane was sold to Bed, Bath & Beyond in June 2016. Susan remains a strategic advisor to the company.

She is best known as a cofounder of Kiva, one of the world's crowdfunding websites, which has facilitated over $1B in loans across 80 countries since its founding. Currently, Jessica serves as Chief Impact Officer at Aspiration, an online bank helping customers align their spending with their social values. She received an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, a BA from Bucknell University, and a Global Leadership and Public Policy certificate from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Jacqueline Depaul is an IT Engineering Consultant guiding C-Level executives at Fortune 500 companies on how to build and design their communications and data infrastructures. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Texas A&M University. Jacqueline also started a second career later in life (at the age of 38) of a fashion model. In her spare time outside of her engineering job, she learned to model on the weekends, won the Wilhelmina Agency 40+ model search at age 41. She is also the founder of her own modeling and lifestyle blog “Yellow Brick Runway”, which chronicles her journey as a techie trying to learn the ropes as a fashion model.
Frances Anderton is host of DnA: Design and Architecture, a weekly radio show broadcast on KCRW NPR station in Los Angeles. She has served as correspondent for the New York Times and Dwell Magazine. Her books include Grand Illusion: A Story of Ambition, and its Limits, on LA’s Bunker Hill, based on a studio she co-taught with Frank Gehry and partners at USC School of Architecture. Honors include the Esther McCoy 2010 Award for her work in educating the public about architecture and urbanism from USC School of Architecture’s Architectural Guild; she was SCI-Arc’s "Honored Guest" at its 2018 Main Event.
Nai Vasha is the co-founder of UNDO-ORDINARY, a global wellness platform changing the way people see healthy living. The latest issue, GREY AREA looks at aging as a natural process of life, uncoveingr clues to the future of training, technology, sustainability and health as everything in life moves in patterns. Vasha is an adventurer and craftsman from Stockton, California. As an avid long distance runner, she is blazing a trail that breaks the algorithm while building organic community. Stripping the tail off an ancient Chinese proverb, she lives by one simple quote, “Never trouble trouble.”
Catherine Grace O
Catherine Grace O is an Ageism Positivist, An Empowerment Cat-alyst, Founder of The Forever Fierce Revolution, a global Facebook Community dedicated to supporting and celebrating the Modern Midlife Woman, and the CEO of Forever Fierce Media, a female-focused message based digital media agency. She is also the creative behind CatherineGraceO, a lifestyle brand in which she teaches women to Master Modern Midlife from the inside out by inspiring them to view age through a fierce, new lens. Catherine's mission is to disrupt the perception of women at Midlife & Beyond to one that is vibrant, relevant, and empowered. She believes that women over 40 are the "Perfect Storm" as the first demographic in history to have health and vitality, wisdom and life experience, and a pocketbook to match. Previously she worked at Swiss Bank Corporation and Aon Corporation in Marketing and Sales.
Charlotte Japp is a NYC-based creative director and founder of CIRKEL, an event and co-mentorship platform connecting generations for mutual personal and professional growth. CIRKEL was created out of a personal challenge Charlotte experienced while working in media and advertising: there were tons of young, smart professionals but no older, experienced colleagues to mentor or guide them. It became clear that ageism is detrimental to both sides of the age spectrum, and CIRKEL's solution is to bridge that generational gap through a curated, culture-forward approach.
Diane Flynn is Cofounder and CEO of ReBoot Accel, designing work cultures that support and advance women. ReBoot Accel has assisted over 2500 women interested in resuming careers after time out of the workforce, many of whom are over 40. Diane also consults with Fortune 500 companies interested in hiring and retaining women, and on ways to unleash the value of the intergenerational workforce. She has spoken at SXSW and conferences on Diversity, Ageism, and the Future of Work.
Gigi Johnson launched the Center for Music Innovation at UCLA Alpert in 2014 to explore how innovation changes social connections and human systems around music and with music. Previously, she ran programs and was a lecturer at UCLA Anderson in subject ranging from digital disruption in media to action research for company change. As the Executive Director of the Maremel Institute, she runs executive programs and transformative conferences on Possible Futures — on how companies can mix science, tech, scifi, and social change to rethink futures of sectors ranging from creative arts to higher education and workforce development.
Jill Baldauf is Associate Dean Alumni Relations at UCLA Anderson. She pivoted from a 35+ year career in advertising to Anderson in 2014. Her career has spanned both coasts with key positions at DDB, Grey, Ogilvy & Mather and Benton & Bowles. Her clients included Procter & Gamble, Nestle, Mars, Henkel as well as toy powerhouses Mattel and Hasbro. In fact, she launched her own agency, Ampersand, in 2003 with a retainer from Hasbro to work on Disney products.
David Cooley is a certified career coach and executive coach. David is Director of Alumni Career Services & Career Coach for UCLA Anderson School of Management's Office of Alumni Relations. David is also the founder and owner of a private executive and career coaching practice and has coached clients from such organizations as The Walt Disney Company, E! Entertainment/NBCUniversal, AT&T and Gilead Sciences.
Tracy is the Founder & Managing Partner of The 22 Fund, an impact, growth equity firm, an Executive in Residence at the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI) and chairs LACI’s Diversity in Entrepreneurship Advisory Council. She is also the founder of the non-profit We Are Enough (WAE) whose only mission is to educate ALL women on how and why to invest in women-owned, for-profit businesses or with a “gender lens.
John Roberts is a Principal and Senior Portfolio Manager at Segall Bryant & Hamill’s. He is the co-manager of the Segall Bryant & Hamill Workplace Equality Fund. During his 21-year tenure with Denver Investments, he served as a portfolio manager in the wealth management group where he pioneered the firms workplace equality screening. Mr. Roberts has a BBA from The George Washington University and J.D. from the University of Denver. Mr. Roberts has been in the investment industry since 1989. Mr. Roberts is on the Denver Foundation Impact Investing Committee and the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Colorado LGBTQ+ Chamber of Commerce.
David Moranville Co-President & CCOA graduate of the Art Center College of Design, David’s 30+ years in the business spans the gamut, from owning his own successful agency in San Francisco to his present-day leadership role at DE. He’s won numerous prestigious awards, including the highly-coveted Cannes Gold Lion. A diverse client list has benefited from his unique expertise in a wide range of categories, including telecomm, consumer packaged goods, technology, financial services, retail, healthcare and automotive. At Davis Elen, David has the honor of personally overseeing all creative work that goes out the door as well as sharing responsibility for growth and innovation at the agency.
Head of Global Design, Levis. Jonathan is an expert at design and marketing to a vast global cross-generational consumer. He has been with Levi’s® since 2009. Jonathan has more than 25 years of Men’s & Women’s design experience. Previous to joining Levi’s®, Jonathan worked with two fashion legends, Franco Moschino and Giorgio Armani in Milan. Between working at Armani Jeans and Moschino Couture, Jonathan created the first jeans line for Iceberg. He has led creative teams in 6 countries and in 3 languages (English, Cantonese and Italian).
Milley is a Creative Strategist who specializes in helping organizations anticipate changing consumer expectations. He is the former Director of Foresight & Innovation at BMW Group Designworks, where he led a cross-disciplinary team responsible for bringing the future to life at the intersection of Research, Strategy, and Advanced Design. Prior to that, Mike founded Samsung’s Global Lifestyle Research Lab, a forward-looking think tank and concept incubator in Silicon Valley. He’s also worked on advanced design teams at Nike and Philips. He is a graduate of Columbia University and Parsons School of Design.
