Eye Spy Your Newest Skincare BFF

The skin around your eyes is unique—and sensitive. Learn what makes its structure and function unlike the other skin on your face and how to treat it with the utmost care and consideration it deserves: with the soothing and restorative power of Mitopure. In collaboration with Timeline.

I must confess: I’m not a skincare junkie. Maybe it’s my youth or maybe it’s the overwhelming confusion I feel when I step into a skincare aisle, but I don’t do a 12-step skincare routine nor do I have any desire to start. A little water on the face in the morning followed by a mist of toner and a moisturizer are all I typically reach for. At night, the only addition to my routine is a cleanser. Yep, I’m a skincare minimalist, and I like to keep it as natural as possible. However, I’ve come to see the value of a good eye cream as I’ve matured. Unlike the rest of your skin, the skin around your eye area is way more sensitive than the rest of your face and body and needs to be treated as such. Timeline knows this, which is why they created not just any eye cream but The Eye Cream

So, What Makes the Skin Around Your Eyes So Sensitive?

While your skin is the largest protective organ, it’s not all durable. Some areas are more delicate, and that has to do with its function and structure. Because of the eye area’s unique function, the skin around your eyes is inherently more sensitive. Compared to other areas on the face, it’s significantly thinner and also lacks the protective layers and subcutaneous fat found elsewhere.

Along with less protective fat pockets, the eye area also has fewer oil glands. Less natural oils means less moisture and protection and more potential for dryness and irritation. Despite this area being less protected, it still does a lot. From blinking to smiling to talking, your eye area is in constant motion, which can put stress on the already delicate skin. Factor in exposure to environmental stresses like sunlight, wind, and cold, and these elements can further exacerbate your skin’s sensitivity and induce premature aging.

From patting not rubbing the eye area to locking in on a moisturizer formulated specifically for this sensitive skin, I’ve come to take more care and consideration when it comes to the skin around my eyes, especially since I’m constantly at odds with dark circles and puffiness under my eyes. If you’re like me, then The Eye Cream by Timeline is the skincare friend you’ve been looking for. It takes all the needs of this special skin into consideration to deliver a product that both soothes and restores. How? With Mitopure, of course.

Mitopure: The Missing Ingredient in Eye Area Skincare

If you’re new here, Mitopure is a highly pure form of Urolithin A, which is a rare postbiotic and a powerful molecule clinically proven to support cellular renewal from within. When added to skincare, it helps protect the skin from internal and external factors that contribute to aging and enhance the skin’s natural energy supply. While it packs a powerful punch, it’s also gentle, non-irritant, and proven to reduce light-induced inflammation—just what your eye area’s been looking for.

Like The Day Cream, The Serum, and The Night Cream, The Eye Cream is also formulated with other skin soothing and boosting ingredients to create a weightless and barrier-strengthening formula that sinks into the eye area with ease, instantly replenishing the delicate skin with lasting hydration. Beyond replenishing dry skin, it’s clinically proven to address all signs of aging in the full eye area, from fine lines and wrinkles to dark circles and puffiness. Some of the other trusted skincare ingredients that Timeline pairs with Mitopure are:

  • Niacinamide to help improve uneven skin tone and strengthen the skin barrier
  • Watercress extract, which is rich in vitamins and antioxidants to protect and revitalize the skin
  • Sodium hyaluronate (a.k.a. the salt form of hyaluronic acid), which helps to replenish and support moisture retention in the skin
  • Peptide-sugar complex, a delicate skin bioactive derived from the Capsicum annuum pepper leaf, which supports dermis regeneration and is clinically proven to significantly reduce dark circles and puffiness under the eyes

Science You Can See

With over 15 years of research, Timeline has taken the science and testing of their Mitopure-powered products very seriously, including their newest eye cream. Based on a three-week user trial of 30 healthy women, aged 40 to 65 years who applied The Eye Cream in the morning and evening, 100% of users agreed that after two weeks their eye areas felt more intensely hydrated and nourished, 85% agreed their eye contour was visibly tighter with reduced crow’s feet and fine lines, and 80% agreed that their dark circles, bags, and puffiness appeared visibly reduced.

The BFF Your Eye Area Needs

Along with The Day Cream, The Serum, and The Night Cream, The Eye Cream is the fourth friend that everyone needs in their skincare routine. This cream is powerful, effective, and simple; minimal steps, no added fragrances or dyes, and dermatologists and ophthalmologists give it two thumbs up. It’s just the way I want my skincare to be. As my skin changes, I want to invest in a product that will continue to meet my needs. Since this eye cream is formulated for all skin types, I’m confident it will brighten, hydrate, depuff, soften, and soothe the sensitive skin around my eyes for years to come.
