After doing this for 9 years, and putting out a single message to everyone, we realized we could do better. Call us slow learners to the idea that giving everyone the same tips is not always most helpful. What will work for one person may not in any way be of interest to someone else; it all depends on what our interests, ambitions and capacities are.
What type of SuperAger are you? We made a short, fun, 10-question quiz for you to find out. It takes about 3 minutes, and you can find it here. There is no right or wrong here, no higher or lower levels; we are all different in how we see the world. Our goal is to align our messaging to be most helpful to all of you. We really want all of you to become the best versions you want of yourselves.
Some of you have already taken the quiz, and your weekly AGEIST has a specific tip for you in the middle of the issue. For those of you who have not taken the quiz, there is no generic tip — I wish we could, but the digital guardrails of the mail program won’t allow it. Grrr inflexible digital. Once you take the quiz, then you will get a specific tip on a specific subject that is tailored to your SuperAger type.
We thought it was going to take us a couple of weeks to create the quiz materials, but we kept finding ways to improve it, and we ended up spending almost 6 months on it. This will be the first step in us becoming even more granular in what we can deliver. One of our findings about age is that the older we get the more divergent our ambitions and interests become, and this is our way of acknowledging it and doing our best to improve how we interact with our village. Pro tip: since you are already receiving AGEIST, try to use the same email address you are currently using so that you don’t end up with an annoying double subscription.
Send us any comments or thoughts on how we can improve. Be nice, as we have a lot of ego invested in it, and we can take everything the village says to heart.
Onward and upward,
David
