RewildRestore: A Luxurious Reset

RewildRestore: Our travel editor Patricia makes the case for spaciousness and wild, untamed beauty. This exclusive seven-day experience in the Small Cyclades is dedicated to water, ritual and deep connection to the elements.

Sometimes it’s not a vacation we need but space for connection. Space for filling up, hearing our own thoughts and inner stirrings, and being in our body… coming alive through the senses.

This is part of the inspiration behind RewildRestore. The other calling has to do with water; the ocean. Specifically, the Aegean.

My water practice was born in Greece. As a sensory immersion artist, much of my work has to do with connecting to place: listening, touching and sensing; giving myself over to air, water, earth to create new experiences that I can share.

A few years ago, I was working on the nearby island of Naxos, and I began swimming every day (I was living on the Aegean, how could I not!). It started as a fun break, but over time my swims grew into a daily ritual. Each day I told myself all I had to do was go a little longer than the day before. I started small with a few hundred strokes and ended up swimming a few miles across coves. The swims took root in my body, and became my connection to nature, fitness, self-care, creative flow and happy place all rolled into one. Everything came alive on those daily swims. To feel the physicality of water on my skin, the vastness of the Aegean, which shape-shifts into every shade of blue possible. It was a reset down to the cellular level.

A Sensory Reset

The sea holds space for ancient memories and new inspirations. On RewildRestore, we greet the Aegean together every day in a morning ritual. Entering the water in silence, with intention, changes a familiar activity into something sacred. I share my practice, while creating space for people to discover their own relationship with water, expanding our boundaries daily. For me, it’s not so much about swimming as exercise as it is an act of listening and tuning-in. By practicing it each day, the ritual and rhythm of the Aegean take hold in our bodies, and it’s ours forever. It doesn’t hurt, of course, that we’re surrounded by wild, sensuous, salty beauty and facing the ancient island of Keros!

An Active Immersion in Place

Some places are charged with the energy of the ancients. Our retreat happens in a beautifully unspoiled island in the Small Cyclades, resting in the luxurious gaze of the sacred island of Keros. You feel it. This magnetic sense of history is part of the experience, too.

In June, in the longest days of summer, the stars and full moon align for our dreams: the rituals of water and sound. You will come away deeply nourished, perhaps with a desire to never leave.
