“We have to be our own best health advocates. We know our bodies better than anyone else, or, if we don’t, we need to take control of our health and start to learn our bodies.”

“Of the 1 in 8 women who will receive an invasive breast cancer diagnosis at some point in her life, only 5-10% are genetic. And that baffled me. That’s when I put the journalism hat on, I started all the research, I dug in deep, and I learned it really is what we put in, on, and around our bodies that turn on or off certain dormant cancer cells or genes.”

“Just start. If it’s 5 minutes once a week because that’s all you can do because you’re starting from zero, that’s okay. That is absolutely okay.”
