The Power of Turmeric

We’ve shared how curcumin, the compound found in turmeric, is powerful in reducing inflammation and is beneficial for recovery. A recent study from UC Riverside found that beyond curcumin’s anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and suppression of angiogenesis in malignant tumors, curcumin “also promotes the secretion of vascular endothelial growth factor, or VEGF, that helps vascular tissues grow.” This finding suggests that curcumin could be used “to help heal or regenerate injured tissue.”
