A good quality probiotic can be beneficial to people with gut or digestive issues. But with so many different probiotics to choose from, how do you know which is the right one to take? Not to mention, our gut microbiome and personal needs vary so what works for one person may not work for you. According to a study published by the National Library of Medicine, “choosing the appropriate probiotic includes matching the strain(s) with the targeted disease or condition, type of formulation, the dose used, and the source (manufacturing quality control and shelf-life).” When choosing the right probiotic, determine the issue that you are solving for, make sure that it is made by a company that has done trials testing the efficacy, and discuss the proper dosage and strain with your doctor.
