How Daylight Savings Time Negatively Impacts Our Health

By now we are all probably adjusted to daylight savings time and jumping forward 1 hour. Some of us may love it because now the sun sets later, some of us may not like how it’s darker when we wake up. But did you know that daylight savings time has real health implications? “The risk of having a stroke goes up 8 percent during the first two days after the beginning of daylight saving time, according to one Finnish study” and “heart attack risk jumped 24 percent the Monday after switching over to daylight saving time.” These findings further prove our belief that sleep is precious, circadian rhythms have an impact and having a consistent sleep schedule is of value.
