DHA & Alzheimer’s Disease

Research suggests that our diet may contribute to our risk of Alzheimer’s disease. A recent study explores the link between docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and incidences of Alzheimer’s disease. DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid found in fatty fish and can also be taken in supplement form. The study found that DHA might help prevent Alzheimer’s disease. In a study of 1490 participants over the age of 64, the researchers found a “robust association worth exploring dietary DHA as one strategy to prevent or delay AD.”
