Ashwagandha’s Effect on Muscle Performance & Endurance

This study investigated the effects of ashwagandha root extract on muscle size, strength, and cardiorespiratory endurance in healthy adults undergoing resistance training. Over an eight-week period, participants were randomly assigned to receive either ashwagandha supplements or a placebo while engaging in resistance training.

The results showed that the ashwagandha group experienced greater improvements in muscle strength, size, and endurance compared to the placebo group, with significant gains observed in both male and female participants. No adverse effects were reported, leading the researchers to conclude that ashwagandha supplementation could be a safe and effective way to enhance muscle performance and endurance in athletes.
