It is currently day 5 at magically transformational Rancho La Puerta in Tecate, Mexico. Every day I feel a bit more relaxed, a bit more attentive to the incredible gardens here. Senses I once had many moons ago are being turned on once again. Feeling and sensing, rather than thinking and planning. A giant exhale for the body and mind into a more calm place.
According to those who know me, I am thought to be highly disciplined and highly structured which, as the one experiencing this, seemed like a bit of an exaggeration. Sure, I go to the gym every day, and we get a lot done around AGEIST, but it is only by contrasting that with the downstate of being here at Rancho that I understood exactly how much of an upholder I am.
As one of the staff I saw today told me, my yang is good, I just need to pay attention to yin, or I may end up in the weeds. In other words, listen more, feel more, but don’t stop thinking and doing; combine all the elements for the best effect. If I would have heard this in any other setting, I would have given it another of those judgmental way-too-woo-woo dismissals but, being here with the Ranch as it works its magic, I was able to hear the message. Being is a form of strength, not just doing.
Onward and upward,
David
