Do you have a story you would like to tell? Is there a short 1-act play you would like to see produced? Perhaps you are an actor wanting to get on stage? TEDxAsburyPark has put out an open call for short plays (10-60 minutes) to be produced at their NJ theater.
TEDxAsburyPark at Two River Theater seeks original plays and comedy scripts of 10 to 60 minutes, which will be workshopped, recorded and presented on Zoom and online.
In their 10th year, TEDxAsburyPark, the East Coast’s largest TED conference, produces live, video, podcast, and online events, with full-house live audiences of up 1200 at Paramount Theater, Asbury Park and Two River Theater, Red Bank. Their TED videos attract up to two million views. They’ve produced TED Talks with Joe Iconis, John Dias, Kaki King, Composer David Cieri, Gov. Phil Murphy, Paulina Porizkova, Audible CEO Don Katz, Chef David Burke, and comics Cory Kahaney, Maureen Langan, Erin Maguire, Marion Grodin, and 200 more.
Plays should have a running time of 10-30 minutes and involve a small cast. As a lab, the directed and rehearsed productions will involve the playwright, and all sessions, including the final production, will be recorded.

The final production will be offered to a live online audience where they typically host 200-800 attendees to be followed by a panel discussion with the playwright, director and cast. The final recorded production will be hosted on their YouTube channel.
If selected, the playwright will grant a limited use license of the recorded work to be hosted on YouTube, with links to the TEDxAsburyPark social media, and at TEDxAsburyPark’s option, to be produced for a live audience by TEDxAsburyPark and its affiliates.
Casting will be an open call with directors and the playwright free to invite actors as part of the process.
They can only review small cast plays between 10 and 60 minutes in length. Submissions will be evaluated on originality, an idea worth spreading, and suitability for online production.
