Key Moments
“The mind generates ideas. For example, most of us think we are subject to those ideas that we don’t have any choice about because the mind is generating them. But that is not the case. The reality is the mind is one of our tools. We are the boss of the mind. We get to tell the mind what to think on its own.”
“Conscious breathing means taking conscious control of the breathing. In the same way that we talked about taking conscious control of the mind as a tool, we are now going to the breathing apparatus.”
“We are born, we live a life, and we die. The best thing that we can do is celebrate the very fact that we got to be here; life in and of itself is worthy of celebration.”

This recent trend to push Psychedelic Drugs/Natural Substances is hogwash . Another money making scheme praying on people who are wanting to find deeper answers to their lives . Being a searcher and wanting to better oneself and find deeper answers to life is applaudable-there are other resources that do not rely giving your personal power away to a psychiatrist especially one who promotes such use. In the opening statement …. It suggest not to be a Slave to your Mind … but the irony is this article is basically become dependent and a Slave to Psychedelics . The logic is faulty and ridiculous ! I lived in the Haight -Ashbury in the height of mid 60s … it has now been proven Timothy Leary was a front for the CIA – that introduced LSD to us . Don’t fall for this “new improved “ idea . Many of my friends were mentally ruined for good.
With all due respect, having had the benefit of these tools after lifelong struggles, I haven’t experienced or seen anyone become dependent or a “Slave” to these tools, including psilocybin, if guided by an ethical, trained person.
As a Lutheran Christian, I agree with Dr. Miller’s statement, “Well, every one of us has sinned because we’re humans.” However, I believe that Jesus’ sacrifice expunged all the sins of all humankind for all time. Therefore, no worries!
