AGEIST NYC
Come join us for a lively conversation Wednesday May 8th at 7pm with the brilliant Val Monroe, editor and beauty expert, and writer of the fantastically popular Substack newsletter, How Not to F*ck Up Your Face, (syndicated weekly in New York Magazine’s The Cut). Which products or ingredients work and which don’t? What should you avoid? What’s the one thing we should all be using every day? What is the latest thing we all need to know about?
For nearly sixteen years Val was beauty director at O, The Oprah Magazine; she has been an editor at Ms., Redbook, Self, and Parenting Magazines, among others, was a contributing writer at Parents and Entertainment Weekly, and has written hundreds of articles on a wide range of topics for many national publications. Her memoir of her marriage, In the Weather of the Heart, is available on Amazon.
She has appeared many times on national television, and is regarded as the go-to authority for all things botox to facelifts to skincare. Witty, articulate and frank about how the Big Beauty industry manipulates us, Val offers no-nonsense, honest evaluations of products, procedures, and a philosophy designed to help us feel happier about our appearance as we age.
Because of her extensive experience interviewing beauty experts—from makeup artists to dermatologists to plastic surgeons—and her writing on the many aspects of the beauty culture, she is considered an expert in the field. Presented in collaboration with One Manhattan Square, AGEIST Magazine, SuperAge and The Park City Longevity Institute. Hosted by AGEIST founder David Stewart.
